In 2016 we, Maria, Mette and Martin, were sitting at a cafe with Maria´s three children. The waitress handed the children an iPad each and within seconds they were buried in the world of apps. We noticed how they were sitting all cramped up and completely still for a long period of time. As a result, our catching up quickly turned into a discussion of the potential physical consequences of this position. Finally, we discussed what we could actually do to prevent this.
Setting the team
The idea of Motus was devised. We could see that we had the trades to make Motus Move a reality – just within our immediate family. Martin and his wife, Rebekka, both studying to become physiotherapists. Mette working as a project coordinator in the movie industry. Maria experiencing this particular issue with her own children. Maria's husband working within finance. Therefore, To complete the team, Mette reached out to her colleague, Risa, who is an executive producer in games and animations. Once she was on board, her daughter, Zoe, joined as the art director. The Motus Move team was set. This is the short version of how a cosy family get together between three siblings became the starting point of our Motus Move adventure. Made for children, tested by children
Our goal is to encourage active breaks and not interruptions. For this reason, we have been working with dedicated artists, designers and producers to create a unique and fun universe. We believe it is essential that the user enjoys these breaks and looks forward to them. Looks forward to getting back in touch with their body. Additionally, looks forward to create better tablet habits for themself by feeling less discomfort. Therefore, we want to make children feel welcomed and included in this universe. Motus Move is tailored to children in their language in terms of exercises, character design and UI to assure attachment and engagement. In short, Motus Move is made for children, tested by children. First version of the app was launched for iOS in September 2019 and is available in the App Store.
